The User Research
In the initial phase of our research, we focused on identifying and understanding the needs of our target users, along with exploring potential gaps in the current market. This involved an in-depth analysis of existing offerings and user feedback to pinpoint unmet needs and areas for innovation. The findings from this study were crucial in shaping our approach to developing user personas, ensuring that they accurately reflect the characteristics and requirements of our primary audience. This groundwork helps us in tailoring our solutions to effectively address the identified market gaps.

User Journey Maps
User journey maps then were developed for different sections and key functionalities of the system. I designed them to provide a seamless, intuitive, and personalized experience from the moment users engage with the platform. From initial sign-up to ongoing customization, the journey was structured to optimize user satisfaction and engagement through a series of thoughtfully crafted interactions.
-
Sign Up/Sign In: Begins with an efficient account creation process, immediately followed by a guided tour introducing users to the main features of the platform. Users are also prompted to set initial preferences such as themes or content interests, ensuring a personalized start.
-
Home Page Interaction: Focuses on the first engagement with the home page, highlighting easy navigation and immediate access to key functionalities to facilitate user interaction.
-
Profile: Users can access a comprehensive dashboard within their profile, showcasing important metrics like daily hours, user interactions, and revenue, alongside options to customize their personal details and settings.
-
Settings and Configuration: Provides extensive control options including language and theme selection, subscription management, and adjustments to notifications, privacy, and other preferences, further enhancing the personalized user experience.
These user journey maps ensure that every user touchpoint is streamlined and enriched, from the initial interaction to the detailed management of personal and preference settings, fostering a welcoming and engaging platform environment.
The Design
Wireframes
Based on the results of user research and instruction given to me by the software team the initial wireframes were designed to fit a simple but innovative onboarding process allowing users to understand the system's capabilities without getting overwhelmed. Additionally, wireframes for the home page and key functionalities of the system were also developed. I included a section of the wireframe showing the initial sign-up process below.
Design Guidelines
In the Design Guidelines for this project, key standards and best practices were outlined to ensure a cohesive and accessible user experience. Visual elements, typography, and interaction patterns were covered, serving as a foundation for consistent design implementation. This approach was aimed at enhancing user satisfaction and project success through well-defined design decisions.

Interactive Prototpes
During the creation of the high-fidelity designs and prototypes phase of this project, I focused intently on refining the user experience to ensure that every visual and interactive element was designed with the user's needs at the forefront. Transitioning from wireframes to high-fidelity mockups, my objective was to embed the principles of good UX design—usability, accessibility, and efficiency—into every aspect of the interface. Leveraging user feedback gathered during the prototyping stage, I made iterative enhancements, concentrating on streamlining navigation, optimizing the information architecture, and ensuring that interactive components were intuitive and responsive. Additionally, the highlighted points gathered throughout the intial phase of user research were taken into account to ensure an innovative and accessible design. The final prototypes can be found below. I have included a sample containg the initial sign-up process here and other sections are accessible though the following Figma links. Due to the ongoing design and the the final product yet being released to the public, I was asked to not sure the prototypes directly, and thus the whole prototypes are only accessible through the following links:
Additional Sections
As Vosynverse can be used in many different areas, a lot of different functionalities are envisioned to be added to the final product. Some of the ones who are yet to be completed or added to the demos but could be part of the essential functionalities of the Vosynverse in the future are the ability to connect with other streaming services and learning platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime or Coursera and auto-translate the content directly from them and the addition of a section for audiobooks which again can ideally translate the original book into any languages of the users choosing in real-time. The initial design for these sections are also included below:

General Usability Testing Task List

Usability Testing sessions
We then conducted the first rounds of usability testing sessions using both internal and external participants. Surveys containing open-ended questions and facilitator and conductor observations on top of the measurement of success or failure of the benchmark tasks were the primary methods of data gathering in this phase. A mixture of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods was used to investigate the results.
